From edible daisies that 'electrocute' your taste buds, to an exotic pepper tree that will shrug off even the most Arctic winter, there is so much more to 'growing your own' than spuds sprouts and swede.
In a series of talks and an upcoming book, I hope to free all would-be allotmenteers from becoming stuck growing the same staid fruit and veg species that have been churned out in every garden book since the war, revealling the huge array of delicious, exciting and experimental crops that will thrive with ease in the British climate. Here are just a few examples.......
Two exotic spices that grow on a single, super-hardy plant.
Grow this & your spice route could be the walk onto your patio.
The world's most expensive spice that's worth literally its weight in gold, and is as easy to grow as crocus in your window box.
Pop one of these in your mouth & for an hour afterwards all sour foods will miraculously taste sweet. No really, a box of lemons tastes of fizzy sherbet!
Edible daisies that taste like an jolt of electricity, fight the pain of toothache & are said to have a natural 'botox' effect on the skin.
